On Saturday, training is provided for foundation level theory and regulations. Candidates will need to have read and be familiar with the contents of Foundation Manual and current Radiocommunications (Amateur Stations) Class Licence 2023 operating conditions, prior to attending the weekend course. Also included is hands on training for the practical component, required for all three levels, Foundation, Standard and Advanced. SGARS charge an administration fee for provision of the training.
As SGARS does not provide training for Standard and Advance levels, candidates need to undertake self study prior to any assessment.
Standard and advanced level qualification assessments are available on either Saturday or Sunday, by prior arrangement with the SGARS education team.
All assessments are conducted by ACMA accredited assessors. To be successful in both the theory and regulations assessment, a pass mark of 70% is required. Candidates must obtain a 100% pass mark in the practical assessment. There are no charges for assessments.
