JOTA at the Boree Regatta is seeking to schedule contacts with other Jamboree On The Air amateur radio bases

The Boree Regatta is a combined activity, held over the JOTA weekend, and attended by over 500 scouts and girl guides. JOTA at the Boree is potentially the largest JOTA radio base in Australia. Our team would like to hear from other JOTA radio bases in Australia, New Zealand and other countries around the world, with the purpose of scheduling contacts wherever possible.

Location: JOTA at the Boree is located at Bonna Point in Kurnell, Sydney, Australia. Maidenhead grid square is QF56qv.

Time: Operating from 10.30 am on Saturday morning until 10.00 pm Saturday night and again on Sunday morning from 9.00 am until midday (local Sydney time = UTC +11).

Call sign: VK2LE (club station of The St George Amateur Radio Society)

Operation: The JOTA team intend to operate on a range of bands, frequencies and modes, including;

  • HF (probably 40 metres) Voice - LSB, depending on conditions,
  • 2m Voice - FM utilising local Sydney repeaters and simplex frequencies,
  • VK DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) utilising JOTA talk groups TG30 through to TG39,
  • Brandmeister DMR using JOTA talk groups including 907, JOTA Tac 1 to Tac 8s, etc, and,
