For over 30 years Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) has been an activity at the Boree Regatta. The JOTA activities are operated by volunteers of The St George Amateur Radio Society, and will have current Working With Children Checks (WWCC) and are registered with Scouts NSW as Adult Helpers.

The two main JOTA activities at the Boree Regatta;

• Talking on air — connect with Scouts and Guides in other places through the JOTA radio network and discover how radio signals can travel long distances and exchange ideas and experiences with others.
• Radio direction finding — also known as “Fox Hunting”. Use a radio receiver to track down a hidden transmitter somewhere in the Boree activity area.

JOTA activities are run in 30 minute time slots. For your group to participate, on arrival at the Boree site Friday afternoon, leaders will need to book a time slot, at the Boree Registration Tent. Late bookings maybe available on Saturday or Sunday, please inquire at the JOTA activity tent.

JOTA activity time slots for junior guides and scouts are available on Saturday morning, and should be pre-booked prior to the Boree weekend, directly with the Boree Team.
