Getting Started or continuing on your amateur radio journey

For those more technically minded and open to some study, the Standard or Advanced Qualification, consists of;

  • Electronics & radio communications theory
  • Operating procedures 
  • EMI compatibility and Safety
  • ACMA regulations (expanded)
  • Practical and safe operation of a radio equipment (common for all three qualification levels)

To start your Standard or Advanced level qualification (or upgrade from the Foundation level);

Step 1- Check the Education calendar for next Training and Assessment weekend and register your enrolment. 

 

Step 2 - Undertake self-study. Resource information available here; 

Step 3 - Attend the training and assessment weekend, complete your assessment, apply for your qualification certificate and call sign.

Step 4 - Get on the air.
