SGARS Events

Members of The St George Amateur Radio Society are planning to participate in the John Moyle Memorial Field Day on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March 2022.

The aim of the contest is to encourage and provide familiarisation with portable and field operation, and provide training for emergency situations. The rules are therefore specifically designed and focused to encourage field operations.

Stations can operate over either 6 hour or 24 hour period, using some or all modes, on HF, VHF or UHF bands. Full contest details can be found here

The usual location for operating the SGARS club station VK2LE, is not available this year. The SGARS team plan to operate from a field location in the Southern Highlands, about 90 minutes drive south. The site has toilets, shelter shed, parking and importantly trees.

This is a fun event and previous experience is not a requirement.
