WinLink is a global messaging system designed for use by amateur radio operators, enabling email communication over long distances, even in remote areas where traditional internet connections are unavailable. It uses HF (high-frequency) or VHF (very high-frequency) radio frequencies to connect to the internet via radio waves, providing a reliable means for sending and receiving emails in situations where no landline or cellular networks are accessible. WinLink operates with specialized software, like Winlink Express, and offers secure messaging, weather reports, and other important communication services. This system is especially useful for emergency communications, outdoor expeditions, or areas with limited infrastructure.
