2024 Events

Jamboree On The Air, (JOTA) is an annual event in which Scouts, and later Guides, all over the world connect with each other by means of amateur radio.

In 1957 scout leader and amateur radio operator, Leslie Mitchell G3BHK, devised the initial Jamboree On The Air.

Since 1995, over the third full weekend in October, JOTA has been an activity of the Endeavour Boree Regatta, operated by members and friends of The St George Amateur Radio Society (SGARS). Guides and scouts can talk to others around the corner, Australia or the world, or try a radio direction finding (fox hunting) challenge.

Your assistance over the JOTA weekend would be appreciated, prior experience is not essential as other team members will be available to provide support. The JOTA radio station will be using the club call sign VK2LE. Operators from any qualification levels are most welcome. Equipment and refreshments are provided.
