The Evolution of Telecommunications
Wednesday 04 August 2021, 19:30 - 21:30

Due to the current COVID-19 situation The St George Amateur Radio Society will be holding the monthly gatherings on line; the next is on Wednesday evening 4th August 2021.

Communicating over a distance has been a need of man since the dawn of time. First came Optical semaphore systems, then with the discovery of electro-chemistry and electro-magnetism, sending coded messages over a wire became a reality. With AG Bell's invention of the microphone, and later the telephone, the human voice could now be passed over that wire.

Come with us as Wal VK2ACE tours the fascinating technology timeline from then to now, making frequent stops along the way to examine the major milestones.

This presentation will begin at 7.30pm, Wednesday evening 4th August 2021, on your computer or smart device screen. To join the on line gathering, use a web browser (preferably Google Chrome) and copy the following link;
