The Apollo program needed to cram many kinds of signals onto a single carrier (including Doppler, Ranging, Voice, Command, Telemetry, Biometrics, Science and Video) and do it all with a minimum of space-borne equipment and with sufficient gain to operate at lunar range from many sites on earth. This lecture shows how they made that work.
