The St George Amateur Radio Society will be undertaking a coverage survey of the VK2RDX 2m repeater, located at Mt Bindo in the Blue Mountains. The purpose of the survey is to obtain data relating to the performance of both the repeater transmitter and receiver system.
SGARS members will be taking call backs following the ARNSW morning broadcast on Sunday 18th December 2016, commencing at about 11.00 AM local time, using the call sign VK2LE.
Operators are asked to listen to the ARNSW morning broadcast on 146.650 MHz repeater output frequency and record the received signal strength. Following the broadcast, please call back on the repeater input frequency of 146.050 MHz (No CTCSS tone required). The following information would be greatfully appreciated;
- Operator's name and callsign
- Location (suburb, town or grid square)
- Received signal stregth from VK2RDX
- Antenna type and / or gain (if known)
- Antenna Elevation (above ground level)
- Any other information or comments that might be useful
Reports from operators from the greater Sydney area, west to Cowra and Dubbo, North to Mudgee, Newcastle and the Hunter, and south to Goulburn and the ACT, would be greatly appreciated.
The results of this survey will be used to assist in assessing the performance of the VK2RDX 2m repeater and determining further actions to be undertaken.
