The St George Amateur Radio Society Inc is dedicated to promoting the hobby of amateur radio by encouraging and supporting participation by those interested people, mainly within the St George and Sutherland Shire, and surrounding areas.
Members and visitors regularly gather on the first Wednesday of each month (except January) at our club rooms located in Donnelly Park, Kyle Parade, Connells Point (near South Hurstville), commencing at 7.30 PM local time. Check SGARS Menu for location information.
SGARS facilitate a range of events related to amateur radio including technical presentations, contests and field days, licence training and assessment, equipment disposals, on air nets and much more. Refer to the SGARS Menu for more information about Upcoming Events.
A regular club net is held on Thursday evenings on the Sydney south 2m repeater VK2RLE, 146.800 MHz -600 kHz, commencing at 8.00 PM local time.
SGARS operates four amateur radio repeaters on both the 2m VHF and 70cm UHF bands, with FM, DMR and Echo Link capability. Check SGARS Menu for repeater information.
Amateur radio licence training and assessment weekends are conducted throughout the year. Check Events Menu for future dates.
Bring along your HF portable setup to the picturesque shores of Kyle Bay, on Wednesday evening 7th February 2018. Setup and show others your portable HF equipment in operation, commencing from 6.30 PM.
Band pass filters will be available to facilitate simultaneous operation on different bands. Come along and see what your fellow amateur radio operators have created for great HF portable operation. This event would be a great introduction to the John Moyle contest in March.
The meeting hall in Donnelly Park, Kyle Parade, Connells Point, will be open for those requiring tea or coffee and to use the facilities.
