Enrolment for the Foundation level Qualification;

• Download and complete the Foundation level section of the enrolment form link below
• Select the dates for the next Training and Assessment weekend, which be found on the SGARS Education calendar below
• Forward the completed form to Education Team
• SGARS offer the foundation level training session for a nominal non-refundable fee
• Payment of the training fee, currently $25 to SGARS, which can be transferred into SGARS nominated bank account
• Education Officer, will confirm your enrolment and provide additional information

Enrolment for the Standard or Advanced level Qualification;

• Download and complete the standard / advanced level section of the enrolment form link below
• Select the dates for the next Training and Assessment weekend, which be found on the SGARS Education calendar below
• Forward the completed form to Education Team, who will confirm your enrolment and provide additional information

Please note:

• If you are new to amateur radio and do not currenlty have an amateur radio qualification, in addition to the theory and regulations exam, you will need to pass a practical assessment. SGARS highly recommend you attend the foundation level training season prior to your assessment.
• If applicable, payment of the training fee, currently $25 to SGARS, can be transferred into SGARS nominated bank account
• SGARS do not offer training for the standard or advanced level theory and regulations assessment. 

Fees for Foundation, Standard and Advanced level ACMA assessment, qualification and call sign allocation (current as of 24th May 2026)

• Assessments for all levels are provided at NO cost
• ACMA fee for amateur radio qualification recognition certificate is $48.00
• ACMA fee for next available amateur radio call sign allocation is $32.00 or $44.00 for preferred 3 letter call sign of your choice

Under the class licence system for amateur radio, there are no ongoing or yearly fees.
